Archaeologists have revealed that evidence of a second stone circle has been found near the site of Stonehenge in the United Kingdom. It is thought the smaller circle was built around the same time, making it 5,000 years old. Only chips remain of the 27 stones that made up the site, which was built from spotted dolerite rocks thought to have originated in the Preseli Hills in Wales. From there they were dragged 200 miles to be built just one mile (two kilometres) from Stonehenge. Because the rocks it is made from are known to appear blue, the

France considers chemically castrating sex offenders

Debate is underway in France over the possibility of forcing male sex offenders to be chemically castrated. Prime Minister François Fillon has confirmed the government is considering such a move. Chemical castration is different from physical castration in that it stops being effective if treatment is stopped, making it reversible. It works by using hormones and significantly reduces a target's libido. The move follows new measures Poland introduced in September to force some paedophiles to be castrated. Germany, Belgium, and parts of the Un

U.S. tariffs on Chinese solar panels to be contested

The United States continues to implement new trade barriers; the most recent tariffs emerged on Wednesday, targeting solar panels imported from China. The resultant inquiry sought to clarify tariffs levied on solar panels imported from China, imports which, for nearly two decades, were considered a duty-free commodity. In early January, U.S. Customs officials reportedly informed the company that the solar panels contained electronic devices
